Summary: For over sixty years, the Military Revolution debate has provoked scholars worldwide to define the nature of military transformations during the Early Modern era. The following article describes how the Military Evolution debate fits in the modern concepts of ‘decolonizing’ history and how an evolutionary approach might better fit the trajectory of human development over the turbulent period of the Early Modern era.
